The Art Of Self Defense
Jujutsu as a sport has become incredibly popular in recent years. An increased focus on the "game" of Jujutsu has led to less emphasis being placed on self-defense. While we do train and study the sport, one of the central aims of Kuroshio is to preserve the original intent and focus of Jujutsu, which is self-defense. Learning the art of self-defense will give you a greater sense of confidence and self-control in the face of adversity.
CLASSES
CONTROL THAT LEADS TO SUBMISSION
Jujutsu focuses on off balancing your opponent and control that leads to submission. Encompassing takedowns, throws, joint locks, and chokes, our jujutsu is a combination of traditional Japanese Jujutsu, Gracie Combatives Jiu-Jitsu, Sport Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Submission Grappling (NoGi).
THE PERFECT COMBINATION
We incorporate teachings from Shorin-Ryu Karate and Muay Thai so that our students have a comprehensive understanding of self-defense. Learn to use punches, kicks, blocks, knees, clinches, and sweeps so you can feel confident in all scenarios.
BODY CONDITIONING
Physical conditioning that is specifically aimed to improve a students martial arts practice is essential for the best performance and development of the body.Training will consist of strength, resistance, power, mobility and agility exercises.
